FAQs

Typically, we release tickets to new classes once per month. However, if you’re looking at our 2022 calendar, please read the following notice —

On Dec 23rd there was a fire in one of the residential apartments located directly above Tablespoon. Thankfully, the fire department responded almost immediately to put out the fire and no one was injured. However, the sprinklers in the upstairs apartment went off. Unfortunately, all of this water came down through our ceiling, walls, floors and even down to the basement. As a result, our beautiful new space has incurred severe water damage and needs extensive repairs and restoration. We are devastated. As of now, we are anticipating that we will be closed through January at a minimum. Please click here to learn more about the incident.

Please join our email list to keep up to date on our reopening! Those on our e-mail list get a sneak peek of new classes first. A few days before tickets go on sale, we send an e-mail preview of what’s coming up so you can be ready. When tickets go on sale, you’ll receive an e-mail with links to each class ticket page.

For our workshop style classes (most public classes), you’ll have a work station, set up with pre-measured ingredients and all the food and equipment you’ll need for class. You’ll follow along with our chef instructors, working individually or in pairs (depending on the menu) to complete the meal.

We have a video screen and enhanced audio so you’ll be able to hear and see our chef-instructor. When all the cooking is finished, you’ll sit down in our dining area and at our bar to enjoy what you’ve made. If you’re in a baking/pastry class (for example, a pie or donuts) you’ll leave with a finished product to take home!

It’s our first priority to keep our guests and staff safe. As of June 2nd, 2021 – masks will be optional for guests vaccinated for Covid-19. Guests who are not vaccinated for Covid-19 will be asked to wear a mask while not actively eating and drinking. We will no longer be enforcing social distancing, so please note that during class you may interact or be within close proximity to those not in your party.

We love to encourage young cooks! Kids aged 12+ are welcome to join an adult in a regularly scheduled class, but they must be accompanied by an adult (18+) who is also attending and participating in class. At the moment, we do not offer cooking classes designed specifically for children/teens. We may occasionally offer kids + family classes, but we do not have these on our schedule very often.

To get updates on kids class/camp offerings, please make sure to sign up for our email list.

Most of our publicly offered classes cost around $78-$95 per person (+tax and fees).

Each ticket typically includes:

  • Hands-on instruction from professional chefs
  • 2 drinks: beer & wine — we offer a seasonally rotating selection of wines from small producers as well as local craft beer. Additional drinks will be available for purchase.
  • A booklet of recipes from class
  • All the food you cook and enjoy during class, plus any leftovers to take home.

Please check listing prior to purchase to view specifics about what is included as this may vary from class to class.

Most classes range from $78-$95 per person (+taxes and fees). Your ticket includes instruction from our professional chefs, a drink from our bar, and all the food you make & eat in class. We recommend at least $100+ per person to cover all costs.

If you contact us more than 7 days before your scheduled class, we can issue you a credit worth the full value of your purchase.

If you contact us within 7 days before your scheduled class, we are not able to guarantee a credit. You always have the option to give your tickets to someone you know, but we can also reach out to our waitlists to see if anyone is interested. We understand that unexpected things come up, so we will always do our best to assist in emergency situations. However, it can be very difficult for us to sell last-minute tickets. If we are able to find someone off our waitlist to take your seat(s), we’ll issue you credit, minus a $20 per ticket cancellation fee. If the tickets are not purchased by someone else, no credit or refund will be given.

About Credits:

Public Classes
Each class ticket page should include information about which common dietary restrictions we are able to accommodate, so please check there before registering. Either way, we need advanced notice (2 weeks minimum) to accommodate any dietary restrictions or food allergies. If you have questions, please contact our staff via email and we’ll do our best to guide you to the right class.

Private Events
If you are planning a private event, please inform your event manager as soon as you’re aware of any dietary restrictions or food allergies in your group. We can typically be flexible and accommodate, but it varies depending on the specifics of the allergies and of which class you’ve chosen.

Catering
Please alert our staff if anyone in your group has food allergies (such as gluten, dairy, or nuts) so that we can make appropriate changes where necessary. Our cookies and snack mix may not be safe for those with certain allergies, so please let us know if someone in your group needs an allergy-friendly alternative in their boxed lunch.

Yes! At an in-person Tablespoon cooking class, you’ll learn through hands-on experience – chopping, stirring, smelling, tasting, etc.

To redeem your credit, you’ll enter your gift card redemption code while checking out of your order.

The place to enter this is on the final step of the booking process. You’ll click where it says “click here to redeem a gift card/promo code”, and enter the code from there. If your gift card was purchased before 11/23/18 OR you don’t know your gift card code, please e-mail us ahead of the ticket release so we can assist you. ([email protected])

Class will be led by one of our chef instructors who are all seasoned culinary professionals. We also feature guest instructors from local restaurants, so check out our calendar to see who’s cooking next!

Please make sure to read through the ticket description prior to signing up for class as we do occasionally offer styles of events that do not offer a full meal.
