Improving your knife skills will make you a better, safer and more efficient cook. Learning a few simple techniques will help you eat healthier and make cooking at home easier and more fun.

Knives are our most used kitchen tools. To be a good home cook, you need to know the proper way to use them! If you’re going to take one cooking class, this should be it!

In this hands-on class, we will learn how to hold a knife and talk about the basics of kitchen safety and sanitation. We will go over slicing, dicing, mincing and chopping and talk about when you use each skill. Students will take home all of the ingredients they work with in class.

Come learn about wine in a laid back environment! The wine world is immense and it can be intimidating trying to order off a wine menu or pick a bottle at the store.

Join Tablespoon Cooking Co. and Revel OTR for a fun wine experience! We will go over the basics of wine and arm you with the information you need to confidently order wine in any environment. A little bit of wine knowledge goes a long way and there’ll be no more awkward moments ordering wine on dates or when you’re having dinner with your wine aficiando boss.

Our class will cover:

  • The most popular wine regions and grapes
  • How to figure out what you like — more expensive isn’t always better!
  • How to navigate a wine menu at a restaurant and order like a pro
  • How to taste wine
  • The basics of pairing food and wine
  • Tips for buying wine and serving it at home

The atmosphere will be fun and convivial and we’ll drink plenty of wine and have some food to pair with it. The class will be led by Alex Sena, Revel’s head winemaker, and Jordan Hamons, chef-owner of Tablespoon Cooking Company.

Come learn how to make a classic French bistro dinner. If you love Paris and France, this is the class for you! You’ll get hands-on experience making the menu items and class will finish with a full meal of everything we cooked.

We’ll talk about the tools needed to cook the menu, buying great ingredients, and how to plan and prep so you can host a wonderful French dinner for friends.

The atmosphere will be fun and convivial and we’ll have beer and wine. This makes for a great date night, night out with friends or evening with your parents/adult children!

Love collecting cookbooks and trying new recipes? Do you live to eat? Want to meet new people and have fun talking about food and cooking? Join us for the TBSP Cookbook Club!

A cookbook club is a themed potluck where everyone brings a dish cooked from the same book. We’ll get to try new foods, experience new flavors and have a ton of fun doing so!

Our first book is My Paris Kitchen by David Lebovitz. This book is full of amazing recipes and great stories that will transport you straight to Paris. If you love French home cooking and the Parisian way of life, you will adore this book.

Then, in the Parisian way, we’ll slow it down and the Tablespoon Chefs will prepare the main dishes and pair them with great wines throughout the meal. All you have to do is bring an appetizer, side dish or dessert and show up ready to eat, drink, and be merry!

Fried Chicken Workshop

We’ll go over the fundamentals of sauce making and learn classic and modern sauces that you can add to your cooking repertoire.

You’ll get hands-on experience making the sauces. The atmosphere will be fun and convivial and we’ll have beer and wine. We’ll eat and drink throughout class. This makes for a great date night, night out with friends or mother-daughter / father-son event!

We’ll talk about the tools and equipment you need at home, buying great ingredients, and how to plan and prep so you can pickle and preserve year-round. You’ll get hands-on experience making the menu items and you’ll have 3 chef-instructors there to help!
